About Robyn & her Art

Evoking feeling in the viewer, and telling a story is just as important as striving to be a good painter.

Channeling the beauty of life, both in human-kind & nature, expression of humankind’s quirks, and story telling to make people smile and (hopefully) go ‘Oh wow!’.

Robyn's major interest is Old Masters techniques in portraiture. She also enjoys painting more impressionistic landscapes. As a keen photographer, Robyn works almost exclusively from her own photographs.

Robyn works in oils, acrylics, pastels & pencil.

Robyn had a ‘lightbulb moment’ during an attempt at pencil drawing around 1997. Never to look back, she has aimed at continual learning in technique & theory, not necessarily in the traditional route, but by constantly seeking great teachers to develop her own style.

Originally hailing from Western Victoria, Robyn has lived extensively in Asia. Melbourne was home base several times, then Launceston & she and her husband moved to the Noosa Hinterland in Queensland in early 2020 just as Covid19 began.
