Hugging self, self care, dreaming, what is she thinking about? I was drawn to this image & wanted to give it a try. I'm enjoying the freedom of painting an image that I don't have a good reference photo... She could be anyone. Oil on canvas.
Working with a grainy photo of this character. Photo courtesy of Robina from the Unstable coffee cart in Quilpie - the best coffee!
In a little town called Quilpie, I came across a local character, who made the Stable Table for the Coffee cart called Unstable Coffee". The cart was a converted horse float & the two women there made the most awesome coffee & breakfast goodies. I'm working on an image of Lenny & the coffee van, lots more to do yet, but loving this one. Oil on canvas
Starting with a charcoal Sketch, this is the first stage on a linen canvas. Many hours of painting to follow.
I saw these two trees in a flood ravaged riverbed in Robertson River, far north Qld. I'm slowly trying to do the image justice, a while to go yet! Oil on canvas.
A Bougeureau study, fo a young woman bathing by the sea. I am a big fan of his work, can you tell? :-)
A young girl by the water fountain. Copying image by William Bougeureau, one of my favourite French artists. Oil on canvas
Young girl, another Bougeureau study. Oil on canvas
Unfinished Oil, Dec 2018 in workshop. This portrait was done in the style of the Old Masters technique on linen canvas using a photograph. Early stage, but I love this image even before its finished. Perhaps I won't finish...
